Ravissante Facial Session

Monday, November 21, 2011

I wasn't the type of girl who would faithfully pamper and care for my facial skin, it was always just a splash of water and I'm off for the day!

So when it comes to reviewing a facial spa, I can almost imagine my skin cheering and crying out for joy. (aww come on skin, Im not that bad at maintaining my beauty routines..><)

Ravissante (pronounced rah-vis-sant) is tucked neatly in the rows of shoplots, I made my way up the stairs and found a cozy waiting room greeting me.

Everywhere was a warm hue of orange, brownish light.. It was really soothing the moment I walked in, not too bright nor dim, just nice. After I filled in some forms, deposited my belongings and traded my shoes for a neat pair of slippers, it was time to head for the treatment room.

You can opt for a single treatment room or double, I think it would be fun to do your facials together with a gal pal.. no?

So I got changed into the given attire and lay myself down on the comfy bed, awaiting the treatment that was before me.

The therapist was very much friendly, she started with a double cleanser on my face. It was cooling to touch and I closed my eyes, inviting the refreshing sensation.

As the therapist massaged gently, she told me a thing or two about the products they use.Ravissante utilizes Ella Bache, a France skincare brand originated from Paris. It was created by Madam Bache in 1936, who believed that no two skin is alike. She was the first to include ingredients such as Tomato extracts into her products. (Their tagline is : Skin good enough to eat!)

This is the legendary Madam Bache :)

Anyway after the cleansing, I got my face scrubbed :) It was delightful, the smell was soft and rosy. The name of it was delicious too - Rose cocktail. The scrub was actually made from hundreds of black and white rose petals.

Next, my face was gently steamed and then comes manual extraction! The therapist really went all the way to clear my face of the stubborn black heads thats been residing for too long. She commented that I have high pain endurance which I thank my mom who kneads my face every single moment of my teenage years.

Then , mask was applied onto my face. It was the soft kind. I closed my eyes as I tuned into the soft background music and feeling the healing touch on my face. After awhile I got a nice relaxing massage from the therapist, it made me wanna sleep more cuz it felt so good. The facial involved a lot of acupressure type movements.

After cleansing my face, a second mask was applied. It was a mixture of white clay and chamomile water. Once again I tuned into my senses as I get my chance of relaxing in the dim lighted room for awhile.

Once the time was up, the therapist cleansed my face once once more and applied a moisturizing cream. I really liked the non-stickiness and the yummy scent of the cream. It was actually made of Tomatoes and Ruscus- totally fresh and natural for that youthful glow.

And that was the end of the 90 minute treatment :)
I came out of the room and stared at the dewy faced me in the mirror, all glowing and shining radiantly. No joke that the treatment guarantees a radiant shine instantly, I was very impressed. :)
can you see the shiiineeee? <3

Truly it is skin good enough to eat :)
